Reaching the world and telling them of their opportunity to know God's love is a big deal to us because it's a big deal to God. He told us to "go and make disciples of all nations," so we do. God has called each of us to be his witness right here in Berkley, but also to the ends of the earth.  It is not an option to choose one or the other, so we do both.  We support many missionaries that have devoted their lives to communicating God's love to people on every continent.

Founded in 1892 Avant Ministries (formerly known as Gospel Missionary Union) is one of the oldest missionary sending agencies in the United States. Today, Avant is moving into new territories with new initiatives to preach the unchanging gospel of Jesus Christ. BCC has been partnering with Avant Ministries since 1978 when Ev and Jan Dow left Berkley to serve in the jungles of Ecuador. The Dows then served in Colombia for a short time, and then in Guadalajara Mexico.  The Dows are now on a Home Ministry assignment.  Please pray for God to lead them into the next ministry project.

wycliffe.jpgWycliffe Bible Translators

Wycliffe was founded in 1942 by William Cameron Townsend. A missionary to the Cakchiquel Indians of Guatemala, Townsend caught the vision for translation when Cakchiquel-speaking men expressed their concern that the Bible was not available to them in the language they understood clearly. As a result, Townsend resolved that every man, woman and child should be able to read God’s Word in their own language.Nancy.jpg

BCC supports Nancy Hagberg who works with the Mayo and Yaqui to translate the Bible into their own language.  They are reviewing the translation work for Luke, 1 & 2 Corinthians, 2 Timothy, Philemon, James, Jude and Revelation.  The goal is to havethe entire Bible translated and to the presses by August 2014. We are excited to be a part of this ministry and will be attending the celebration / dedication of the publication of New Testament in the Mayo language. Please join us in praying for the continued work with Mayo people and that they may come to trust in Jesus as their Savior.

Love_Serves_Logo_black.pngLove Serves International

LoveServes International exists to bring about sustainable spiritual and community transformation by coaching national pastors to develop healthy churches that equips the Church members to meet the communities' greatest needs through the love of Christ. Church members are transformed by the Holy Spirit to become Christ’s hands and feet to their own community. The Church stops focusing on “attracting” people into the four walls of their building and gets out into its community and meets its greatest needs. Read more
